Rebecca Newton Brings Old and New Sounds to Aberdeen

The Rooster’s Wife waxes nostalgic Sunday, Feb. 12, with a band first encountered in Southern Pines in 1992.

“Having followed the band and its members in myriad combinations for 25 years, it is a delight to bring Rebecca Newton to Poplar Knight Spot for your listening and dancing pleasure,” says organizer Janet Kenworthy. Admission is $15 at the door with cash, check or credit/debit card. 

Five years after a quiet ending to a strong and popular 30-year run as North Carolina’s premier early jazz, swing and rhythm and blues band, the 8-piece Rebecca & the Hi-Tones band are reuniting at the Poplar Knight Spot in Aberdeen.
